About the event

Our Breastfeeding Essentials class is designed to educate you on the way your body and your baby work together.

Breastfeeding is a wonderful way to feed and bond with your baby. It is a natural process that occurs in your body after your baby is born. The more you understand how this process works the more success you and your baby will have on your breastfeeding journey. Whether this is your first baby or your fourth this class can help you get off to a great start.

Did you know that breast milk is the perfect food for your baby? Not only is it the perfect temperature and readily available it is constantly changing to meet the needs of your baby.

In this class you will learn:

how your body makes breast milk

how to latch your baby onto your breast

how often to feed your baby

how to tell if your baby is getting enough milk

how to nurse your baby in different positions

how to manage some of the discomforts that can occur while breastfeeding

how your partner can help

We encourage you to bring a support person with you. This could be a spouse, friend, relative, anyone who will be supporting you after the delivery of your baby.

Those who attend our in person class will be given our online course for free. This way you can review the information as often as you need.
